Square multi-location reporting: sales, items and stock for every location in one morning view.
The Square integration reads every active location in your Square account, read-only: daily and hourly sales, receipts, item sales, categories, refunds, payment methods and the stock each location holds. In marql the locations sit side by side and next to your accounting and e-commerce data, so a chain sees how each shop is trading and where its stock sits without exporting a report per location.

Why connect
What you get with Square connected
Every location on one page
marql reads all active Square locations and puts them side by side: sales, receipts, average transaction value and the hourly curve, store by store and as a chain total. Each day is counted on the location's own clock, so a late evening sale lands on the right day.
Stock across locations, next to what each one sells
Each night marql takes the stock on hand for every item at every Square location. Read next to item sales, it shows where stock is piling up in one shop while another sells through, and how much money is tied up in each.
Item and category margin
Where your Square items carry a unit cost, marql works out cost of goods and margin by item, category and location. The connection is read-only: nothing in Square is created, changed or deleted.
Guide
Square multi-location reporting
Square keeps each location's sales, but a chain owner's question goes across them: which shops are up on last week, which are down, and which items carry the estate. marql answers that from the figures Square already holds.
For every active location marql reads completed sales and builds the daily picture: sales, number of sales, average transaction value, items per sale, discounts and the split between cash, card and online payments, plus an hourly curve. Each location is matched to a store in marql once, and from then on stores can be ranked, compared and added up for the chain.
Square inventory across locations
marql reads the stock count Square keeps for each item at each location, with the item's price and, where it is filled in, its unit cost. The snapshot is taken every night, so the morning view shows what each shop held at the end of the previous day.
Because stock sits next to item sales for the same location, you can see stock that is not moving in one shop, items selling through faster in another, and the value of stock held at cost in each.
Items, categories, refunds and VAT
Item sales are read line by line, with the item name, variation, SKU and the reporting category Square uses in its own reports, so each item is counted once. Refunds reduce sales on the day the refund happens, the way a till counts them.
Sales are shown including VAT, the same way marql shows every other till, so Square shops and shops on other systems compare like for like.
Connecting Square
You need a Square access token with read permission for orders, items, inventory and merchant profile. marql lists your active locations, you match each one to a store, and the first import brings in the last 90 days.
After that marql checks for new sales every few minutes and re-reads the last four days each time, because sales taken offline can reach Square up to 72 hours late. Stock is refreshed in the nightly run.
How it works
From Square to your daily briefing in three steps
01
Connect
We set up a read-only connection to Square. No data is written back. Your existing workflow stays unchanged.
02
Sync
marql pulls data on your schedule — hourly or daily. All data is normalised into a single model across all your integrations.
03
Briefing
Your daily operating briefing is ready each morning with revenue, margin, alerts, and store benchmarks — including data from Square.
The last 90 days are imported when you connect, so the first briefing runs on your own numbers.
